Internet Computer Protocol:
ICP and the Future of the Internet

Internet Computer: Web3 protocol - The Crypto Gateway

Get Early on the Next Wave

I promised unconventional alpha to you guys, and I aim on delivering that promise. Most people think crypto begins and ends with Bitcoin, never caring to look deeper into it solely because of “no utility”.

Whatever, but look: that isn’t the case with all crypto.

Some of them actually solve real problems...

I’m talking about the Internet Computer (ICP). And if it’s what I think it is... we are in for a ride! And if I’m right? We’re ridiculously early.

To understand why, we have to rewind.

History of the Internet

When the internet first emerged as a global consciousness, the idea was different.

It was about people first. In the early 2000s the web was a collection of blogposts and hubs for sharing information. The drawback? You had to go looking for things; you weren’t spoon-fed by an algorithm.

But the philosophy was pure: No single company should own the pipes. It was built on ‘Open Protocols’.

You hosted your own website. If you didn’t like your email provider, you could switch and still mail your friends.

John Perry Barlow's "A Declaration of the Independence of Cyberspace" was written on this date in 1996. https://t.co/9SbzdHeDeQ

There was even a “Declaration of the Independence of Cyberspace” by John Perry Barlow = declaring the internet free from the powers of the old world.

That dream didn’t fail… it was bought. After the dot-com bubble burst, faith in the open web weakened opening the door for the corporations

Google, Yahoo, Facebook and Amazon offered a deal: free user experience and connection. In return, we stopped hosting our own sites and moved into their ‘walled gardens’.

It became easier to write and create, sure. But we lost ownership. This transition is known as Web2... And the result is that the internet now effectively belongs to Amazon.

The Uncomfortable Truth…

The crypto-sphere adopted the old cyberspace declaration as its manifesto. You often hear Vitalik Buterin talking about taking power back from the “Digital Landlords”.

But the dirty secret every ETH and SOL maxi prays you never find out: It’s not even close to the truth…

Both Ethereum and Solana mostly run on servers owned by Amazon Web Services (AWS). If Jeff Bezos ever got rugpulled he’d unplug Ethereum tomorrow and half of “DeFi” would go dark.

Solana on X: "1/ Breaking News: Live at #Breakpoint2023, it was revealed that Solana nodes are now available for deployment on Amazon Web Services! ☁️⛓️ 🔗https://t.co/yy8LXsecbR Learn more 🧵👇 https://t.co/a5t0sobUhp" / X

We are still just renting space from the same billionaires we claim to be fighting…

62 % of ETH nodes, 70 % of Solana nodes and literally every major front-end is hosted on AWS.

They hold the kill switch and it’s a single point of failure.

Internet Computer Protocol (ICP)

Enter Web3 which is actually what Ethereum promised... But given what you now know, it’s not exactly decentralized but owned by AWS. And even if you disagree with the hosting, it appears Wall Street is going to take over Ethereum anyways.

ICP however? Just straight-up removed Amazon from the equation. No AWS, no Google Cloud, no single kill switch. In other words if AWS changes policies, imposes restrictions or suffers outages = Ethereum-based applications could be in jeopardy but ICP remains unaffected.

ICP offers autonomous mini-servers that run full-stack web apps (frontend, backend, database) 100% on-chain → your website, your social network & your AI agent all of it tamper-proof and uncensorable = This is the TRUE path to digital salvation.

A Technical Overview of the Internet Computer | DFINITY | Medium

Why? Because ICP with their new smart-contracts known as Canisters can effectively host websites at a fraction of the cost. It’s the ultimate bridge between Web2 and Web3 with Chain-Key Technology that enables the decentralized cloud.

And guess what? Zero gas fees…

Does it sound too good to be true? It almost is. The history of ICP is filled with controversies and setbacks as the project was too ambitious for its time. As ICP launched in 2021, its price spiked to over $700 before crashing mythically.

This was not an average crash in crypto, it was intensified by a severe accusation that insiders dumped massive supply which ultimately caused an aggressive sell-off giving the chain the reputation of a “dead chain”.

But the foundation remains strong and now the time is right.

CaffeineAI : Proof of Alpha

I have literally zero coding skills. I use Substack because I’m too lazy to buy a domain or code. Yet using nothing but the AI-powered dApp CaffeineAI on ICP, I deployed a full website 100% on-chain in 17 minutes.

My Website: https://stockinvadersecretfiles-iu6.caffeine.xyz/

No hosting bill and no gas fees = $0.

Imagine the potential: Just one CaffeineAI-style dApp on ICP could eat the lunch of centralized platforms like Lovable (8 million users) at 1/100th the cost and zero downtime risk.

That’s not a feature. That’s an extinction event.

CaffeineAI goes live today…

The Ultimate Alpha at Play

The investment thesis connects the ‘Canister’ utility to the $ICP token price, this is the most crucial part of this story.

  1. The Engine = Reverse Gas & The Burn
Every time a developer builds an application like CaffeineAI, they must buy ICP tokens and convert them into Cycles to fuel their Canisters. This conversion process permanently burns the ICP token (deflationary mechanism). The more utility the network sees, the more ICP is bought and destroyed.

  2. Governance & Lockup
The ICP token is used for staking in the Network Nervous System (NNS). By locking up your ICP for up to 8 years for governance, you remove massive supply from the liquid market and reward long-term conviction.

ICP is the only protocol that truly delivers the original promise of the internet. We are betting on the only blockchain whose core utility mechanism is designed to reduce token supply based on real-world adoption.

The Potential of this Trade

This is exactly the moment before SOL went from $1 to $100.

The moment before the developers arrive.

And I believe they are about to as the current cost of AI compute is crippling and for competitors like Lovable to compete on price, they will have no choice but to adopt ICP one way or another.

The economics are simply unavoidable.

If this shift occurs, the math is simple: Utility → Burn → Supply Shock.

And CaffeineAI may be the perfect catalyst for this.

Based on the projected token burn and subsequent supply shock, if the ecosystem merely reaches 1 million active users, ICP could see a massive uptick!

Point is: this isn’t your average token…

Currently ICP sits at $3, this is more than a trade.

This is almost an arbitrage opportunity on the future shape of the internet.
