Evolution AB: Management Assumes Full Control...
Dividend Cut | Aruba Forfiet | EVO Comeback| End of the Beginning
Monopoly Assumes Full Control…
At this point I don’t know who still reads me. Forever wrong appears to be the main timeline and amidst my greatest failures stands Evolution AB. But this is far from over and patience is required.
In a massive turn of events, the dividends were cut. Many assume they’re throwing in the towel, but this is a statement. As the market kept cursing the company with a dying multiple, management finally adapted.
A Necessary Sacrifice
Maybe it doesn’t sound too dramatic but considering that 55% of Evolution’s net profits were given to shareholders? It’s a bold move. Especially within Sweden where dividends are seen as a prestige.
My dad unfortunately had to cancel his vacation but overall, investors seem pleased.
Dividend growth investors must take the L.
We want the buyback engine roaring! We want the share count to evaporate! But sadly so does Kenneth Dart…
Who now controls 28% of the company through equity swaps. The trap is almost shut…
They’re already buying back shares aggressively, and management’s only real comment so far was the dividend not being the best option to further increase shareholder value.
So what’s the plan? Either it’s back to innovation or another acquisition. And based on the awfully strange turn of events, Playtech may be in the crosshairs.
The Vendetta
Leadership is important but integrity comes first. Ever since Carlesund discovered the pathetic insurgency from Playtech? He swore to take them down swiftly.
“We will deploy whatever time, effort and money necessary to defend our firm”
Still sends chills down my spine, but on a serious note: I’m not crazy.
My accomplice, Bruno Reward, doesn’t share my outlook. He looks at the NetEnt decay and sees a reason for caution. But when I look at the Black Cube smear campaign, I see a reason for Vendetta.
Playtech is getting sued and I think the reparations for the damages demanded will be too much to bear, forcing them to divest large portions of their assets(at least…). Potentially to Evolution.
The Playtech Play
While pure speculation… It fits relatively well.
Playtech is a british company already operating in tightly regulated markets. We all know that regulations are what’s secretly weighing down Evolution’s ability to monetize and grow, forced to endure in ‘Regulatory Hell’.
Evolution + Playtech = 90% of the market.
This would most likely raise antitrust monopoly concerns. But while the free market despises monopolists and their price discrimination, they hate grey markets even more.
And right now, that’s becoming a real problem…
Regulations Trickling down Competition?
With the rise of Polymarket and decentralized “yes/no” betting, gambling has become an epidemic. And because they’re decentralized (no governing agency), there are no profits made for governments.
Now, decisive legislation in America is seeking to end prediction drafts for sports and casino games (slots/blackjack) on these platforms. The demand comes back to the regulated giants. Back to Evolution. (Never Wrong)
It appears Stock Invader wasn’t wrong this time.
Anyway, my ultimate idea is that governments will prefer having Evolution as the main major global taxable entity for iGaming. And limiting Evolutions expansion (inhibiting a Playtech takeover) might make these markets more prominent.
A known monopoly you can tax is better than a thousand ghosts you can't.
My Move?
I’m optimistic.
The dividend scrapping is by no means a genius repositioning… But finally management is taking action instead of just silence and reaction.
With some strategic offense and luck, Evolution might escape this rotten narrative.
Knowing the dividend cut might be a solid move in order to maintain future dominance? My dad forfeits Aruba for the cause.
Nothing is won without sacrifices — 22% of my portfolio rests in Evolution AB.
If the AI bubble bursts, cash flow becomes king and the stock will eventually be repriced.
Thus with the dividend from NVO 0.00%↑? I am proceeding to buy more €EVVTY.
Because one thing is certain, moving into the next decade, no weakness will remain. And since Evolution is the epitome of dominance?
Management chose,
CONTROL OVER COMFORT
